I grew up in New York City, and while in High School I taught myself how to sew. I learned how to make my own clothes and eventually attended Parsons School of Design in New York in order to perfect my skills. Eventually, I began working for myself, designing and making evening wear for private clients.
After my children went off to college, my husband and I moved to Hilton Head Island to build our house and live near the beach. After joining the Palmetto Quilt Guild, the local quilt guild, on Hilton Head Island, my love of sewing turned toward quilting. I have been addicted to quilting ever since.
Six years ago, I was invited to teach a “Couture Design Techniques” class at Parsons School. This was a great opportunity to share my knowledge with students from all over the world, I spent those years commuting between Hilton Head Island and New York City. I still remain on the Parsons faculty.
